Living Word Lutheran Church was formed in 2009 as a new congregation affiliated with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).
The LCMC was founded in 2001 as an association of confessional Lutheran congregations and pastors worldwide.
LCMC is made up of people who gather around the Word and Sacraments.
Living Word first held meetings at Ballou Jr. High School, secured office space, and moved its Sunday services to the Meridian Habitat Center in Puyallup.
In the fall of 2019, the congregation purchased the property where it currently worships.
The first service was held on the first Sunday of Advent. Living Word is firmly committed to the authority of the Bible.
Living Word's congregational faith statement says:
"This congregation accepts the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God
and the authoritative source and norm of its proclamation, faith, and life."
In addition, we as a congregation and as an association affirms the Reformation motto of "Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Word Alone."
With these free gifts, we are to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ" (II Peter 3:18, NKJV)
so that "we no longer should live the rest of our time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God" (I Peter 4:1 NKJV).
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our LORD.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen

Some elements of worship are traditional and included every week such as Bible readings, confession and absolution, Apostles' Creed, Holy Communion, and a sermon. The music is fluid, ranging from very familiar to more contemporary tunes.
We serve a great and generous God! In response to God's generosity, we set aside Sunday mornings to give Him the worship He deserves.
